Now, as Hoffman Blast II, we harness the same industry expertise and good old-fashioned horse-sense to keep the tradition of exceptional blast room construction alive.

Sales Engineer

Dave Kraker

For over 28 years, Dave worked for a major railcar repair and remanufacturing company. His role took him across the United States managing the maintenance, blasting, and painting of railcars. From 1980 to1990, he was in field service operations covering the states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, and North and South Dakota.

In 1990, Dave began managing a larger plant operation which worked mostly on heavy wreck repairs and modifications to all types of railcars. Blasting and coatings were a large portion of this responsibility.

In 2001, he became Vice President of asset management and environmental operations for the same company. His projects included rebuilding six complete blasting and coating facilities in three of their major railcar plants. In addition, he was instrumental in rebuilding the Orange, TX, plant damaged by Hurricane Rita in 2005.

A fire at another major plant in Dubois, PA destroyed the blasting and painting operations in 2007. He coordinated the rebuilding of this project, scheduled for and made operational in June 2008 – including three new blast booths and two new paint booths.

In addition, he has a strong background in electrics and retro-fitting existing blast and paint systems.

Since joining Hoffman Blast II in 2008, Dave has helped cement our place as the blast room industry authority.
